Albany Airport Trunk Drainage

⁠⁠⁠The City of Albany seeks to engage a suitably qualified Contractor to undertake the construction of stormwater drainage at Albany Airport, located 11km northwest of Albany on Albany Highway.

The proposed drainage project will address the issues with current drainage around the General Aviation hangars, terminal building and car parking areas. These all currently drain via shallow open swales into the Albany Highway roadside swale. Due to the flat topography and shallow invert level of the outfall swale on the highway the system struggles to cope with large rainfall events. Infiltration is not possible because of the presence of clay soils.
