Lane Cove Golf Course Maintenance

Lane Cove Council (Council) is currently calling for tenders from suitably qualified and experienced contractors for the general maintenance, improvement and upkeep of the Lane Cove Golf Course for a period of up to five (5) years.

The Lane Cove Golf Course occupies approximately 15 hectares of undulating land at the top of Gore Creek, which flows into the Lane Cove River a short distance away.

On the eastern boundary of the course lay the fringes of Lane Cove Bushland Park, which provide the unique bushland character to the fairways and greens. Remnant native and planted trees add to the natural ambience in screening the residential urban development.
Residential property owners adjoining the course enjoy the lush green vista with many residents taking advantage of the open space leisure opportunities afforded by the fairways. Walkers, joggers and people exercising dogs are allowed on the fairways during specified hours.

The course contains:
* Nine hole course with practice net, tee and green
* Pro-shop and kiosk
* Sealed car park
* Landscaping
* Golfers' toilets
* Maintenance sheds
* Non-continuous boundary fencing

Previously, Council employed a Superintendent/Greenkeeper plus two full-time staff to carry out maintenance of the golf course. These staff maintained the greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, bridges, trees and landscaping of the surrounding parkland and bushland. Facilities such as sheds, toilets and rubbish bins were also maintained by Council staff.

Council intends to engage the services of suitably qualified and experienced contractor to carry out this landscaping and the day-to-day maintenance requirements in relation to the Lane Cove Golf Course as set out in the Tender Specification for a period of up to five (5) years.
