Tender Description

The Southern Suburbs Rising Main is part of an overall scheme which has been initiated by Townsville City Council in order to alleviate pressure on the existing sewerage infrastructure in the southern suburbs of Townsville. As part of this scheme Pump Station S21, located at the corner of University Drive and Yolanda Drive, and a short length of the sewer rising main parallel to University Drive was constructed in the year 2015. The Southern Suburbs Rising main will connect Pump Station S21 with Cleveland Bay Sewerage Treatment Plant.

Recycled Water Scheme
The recycled water re-use scheme is a key component in Council's 3-point water security solution and includes re-using water for public parklands, sports fields and industrial use.

A substantial section of the recycled water pipes will be laid in conjunction with the separate Southern Suburbs Rising Main upgrade.
Scope of this Tender

This tender includes in general the following main components:
* Supply and construction of approximately 4200m length of DN710 (OD) Polyethylene sewer rising main; this is the Southern Suburbs Rising Main section through Annandale.
* Supply and construction of approximately 4200m length of DN280/225 (OD) Polyethylene pipe for the Recycled Water Reuse Scheme parallel to the Southern Suburbs Rising Main.
* Construction of an interconnection for the Southern Suburbs Rising Main as well as the future Elliot Springs Rising Main into the existing DN1000 Western Outfall pressure main near Port Road Access Road (Ron McLean Drive) including valves and piled thrust restrain
* Road reconstruction of Cypress Drive in conjunction with trench reinstatement
