RFT 2018- 26 The Town of Port Hedland (ToPH) requires the provision of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Consultants for the purpose of:
* facilitating improved relationships between the ToPH and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, communities and organisations
* ensuring mainstream services are accessible and culturally appropriate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
* developing a local cultural protocols document
* advocating and enhancing the interests and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in local government
* obtaining answers to questions related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and providing feedback to council staff
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Consultants will be required to respond to requests for input and/or feedback on Town activities, policies and reports. These include:
