Unique Student Identifier (USI) Website Redesign Accessibility Compliance Audit

⁠⁠⁠The USI Office requires the services of a consultant to undertake an Accessibility Compliance Audit of the new USI website.Earlier this year, the USI Office undertook user research to determine why people contact the USI Office and provide suggestions for enhancing the USI website as a self-service option. The user research recommended a number of changes to the design of the website and the decision was made to redesign the website.

We need to make sure the website can be used by people with disabilities and older people, and people who can’t use, or struggle with, digital services. Our website must be accessible to users regardless of their digital confidence and access to a digital environment. This includes users in remote areas and users’ different devices.

The alpha stage of the new website has been built and USI Office requires it to be audited to ensure that it will be compliant with the Government’s requirements for website accessibility (currently Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA and preferably WCAG 2.1 Level AA). The Digital Transformation Agency’s Digital Service Standard also requires that the audit is undertaken prior to the beta launch of the new website planned for January 2019.

We require a technical WCAG 2.0 compliance audit as follows:
* Structured by page location, then by issue and identifying all criteria not met by that issue
* Identifying each instance of the issue on the page and creating an issue log
* Suggested resolutions are not required as this will be considered by our in-house web development team
* Usability observations are not required unless they are incorporated outside of the technical compliance issues, and
* A quote for additionally considering the WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria (responsiveness/mobile focus)
