Construction of Landfill Cell at Gilgandra Waste Facility

⁠⁠⁠Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking quotations from suitably experienced contractors to excavate a new landfill cell at the Gilgandra Waste Management Facility including the construction of a ramp and sump.

The Scope of Works shall be taken as being generally applicable to the design as indicated on the accompanying design drawings prepared by Langford & Rowe, Consulting Surveyors (sheets 1 and 2).

There is approximately 8741m³ of spoil to be excavated and stockpiled on-site. In addition there is the construction of the access/egress ramp and construction of a sump in the North West corner.

The successful contractor will be required to:
* Excavate 8741m³ of spoil as nominated on plan drawn by Langford & Rowe Surveyors. Stockpile the excavated spoil in the location nominated on plan.
* Shape and grade the floor of the cell to the nominated RL’s on plan. Surface water is to drain to the North West corner as shown on plan.
* Construct the access/egress ramp to the nominated RL’s on plan-sheet 1
* Excavate a 3m x 3m x 1m deep sump pit in the Northwest Corner. Council will supply the ballast that is located on-site. Contractors are to load ballast and place the ballast in the sump. Council will supply a length of pipe to be placed in the centre of the sump.
* Contractors are required to load and haul 7 mining tyres from the Arthursleigh Lane tyre site and deliver to the Gilgandra waste management facility. The tyres are to be stacked on top of each other directly over the sump pit. Council will pin each tyre as the stack is constructed by the successful contractor.
* Council will identify a bench mark on-site to identify an Australian Height Datum (AHD) reference point. It is the contractor’s responsibility to work to the nominated Australian Height Datum (AHD) reduced levels (RL’s) nominated on plan.
* Contractors are also required to nominate an hourly rate for wet hire of nominated plant items in order to excavate any additional spoil as directed by Council.
