“TENDER RELEASED”
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER; the Customer) and the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) are responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of a world best practice rock art (petroglyphs) monitoring program on Murujuga (also known as the Dampier Archipelago, including the Burrup Peninsula and surrounds). MAC, representing the Traditional Owners of Murujuga, is the central organisation for developing and managing all research within Murujuga. DWER is responsible for this Request and subsequent Contract with the successful Respondent. The Murujuga Rock Art Monitoring Program will underpin the Environmental Quality Management Framework (EQMF) for managing environmental quality to protect the rock art on Murujuga. For further information refer to the Murujuga Rock Art Strategy available at Murujuga Rock Art.
The purpose of the Murujuga Rock Art Monitoring Program is to monitor, evaluate and report on changes and trends in the integrity or condition of the rock art and whether the rock art is being subject to accelerated change; specifically to determine whether anthropogenic emissions are accelerating the natural weathering / alteration / degradation of the rock art. This will enable timely and appropriate management responses by the Western Australian Government and stakeholders to emerging issues and risks.
The Customer is seeking the Services of a suitably qualified and experienced specialist service provider to support the development and implementation of a world best practice Rock Art Monitoring Program on Murujuga and at appropriate reference sites.
