Expression of Interest for the Provision of Roof Replacement for Inala Community Health Centre Priority Capital Program, Round 5, Package 1

⁠⁠⁠The Project is located at Inala Community Health Centre, 64 Wirraway Parade, Inala, Queensland.

Inala Community Health Centre is a multidisciplinary facility that provides community health programs and clinics for adults and children. The centre has medical, nursing, allied health, and administrative staff who work together to provide the public with the highest quality care. Inala Community Health Centre is an ageing facility where the roofing infrastructure has reached end of life. As a result, there is significant deterioration to associated flashings, capping’s and the roof surface, that has resulted in multiple leaks throughout the facility during wet weather events.

These leaks not only result in damage to the roofing support structure but also damage to the ceiling tiles, ceiling panelling, insulation and mechanical plant which is located on the top level of the facility directly under the roof sheeting.
A secondary safety risk exists whereby there is currently no safe access system installed on the roof to allow safe access for repairs and inspections.

The new proposed flashing and subsequent up-stands for mechanical roof penetrations are taller than those currently on site. The current flashing/waterproofing system is inadequate and requires change. There are also a large amount of the fan/relief/discharge cowls and associated flashings that are in a significantly poor condition.

The project will consist of replacement of the existing roofing infrastructure including the roof sheeting, expansion and sealant joints, flashings, guttering, insulation, roof fans and cowls and supporting beams where required. Repair and repainting of the roofing soffits, the installation of a new safe access system to the roof and the replacement of the internal insulation.

The project primary objective is to replace the roof, and associated roofing components, at the Inala Community Health Centre. The purpose of the EOI is to gain an early appreciation for contractor participation in delivering the project, and provide opportunity to assess market capability to meet the project program.
