Construction of Southern Feeder Road Stage 2 and Railway Overbridge

⁠⁠⁠Tenders are invited by Orange City Council from suitably qualified contractors for the Construction of the Southern Feeder Road Stage 2 and Railway Overbridge (SFR).

The road upgrade is located approximately 1.6 kilometres from the Orange central business district. The SFR works will connect the existing SFR Stage 1 works completed in 2014 to the west with the Dairy Creek Road to the east.

The main Western Railway line bisects the Stage 2 development. The project involves the construction of three components:
* Southern Feeder Road Stage 2 from Elsham Avenue to Forest Road,
* Southern Feeder Rail Overbridge; and
* Edward Street Reconstruction south of McNeilly Street.

Southern Feeder Road Stage 2
Activities to be undertaken by you during construction include, but are not limited to:
* Clearing and grubbing existing vegetation including removal of topsoil
* Ground surface treatment of embankment and cut foundations including subsoil drainage
* Installation of drainage reticulation, diversion drains and scour protection structures,
* Construction of roadway embankments including drainage blankets where required,
* Construction of roadway pavements, sealing and asphalt wearing course
* Re - vegetation and landscaping
* Provision of street lighting;

Edward Street Connection
Activities to be undertaken by you during construction include, but are not limited to:
* Removal and disposal of existing roads, stormwater and other minor structures
* Ground surface treatment of embankment and cut foundations including subsoil drainage
* Installation of drainage reticulation, diversion drains and scour protection structures, construction of precast concrete box culverts and reinforced concrete pipes
* Construction of roadway embankments including drainage blankets where required,
* Earthworks including clearing and grubbing, removal and stockpiling of topsoil, excavation of cuttings, placing of general fill, management of any contaminated materials, disposal of spoil material as required, foundation treatments, placement of upper zone material using imported materials plus construction of controlled subgrade layer
* Construction of unbound pavements,
* Installation of kerbing and kerb and channel structures,
* Construction of pavement surfacing and asphalt wearing course
* Provision of street lighting

Southern Feeder Road Overbridge
Activities to be undertaken by you during construction include, but are not limited to:
* Construction of bridge approaches including the design of reinforced earth retaining walls
* Installation of 750mm diameter reinforced concrete bored piers with steel liners
* Construction of substructure components including headstocks and ballast walls,
* Manufacture and erect prestressed concrete super T girders including the supply and installation of bearings,
* Construction of a reinforced concrete bridge deck,
* Construction of reinforced cast insitu concrete barriers, expansion joints and supply and installation of railings,
* Bitumen polymer sealing and paving asphalt to the bridge deck,
* Supply and installation of services under the walkway.
* Supply and installation of mesh throw screens.
