17/2018 - Light Regional Council (the Council) invite a submission from the Tenderer for the provision of shoulder construction, shoulder sealing and resealing of the entire road on Stonewell Road from Seppeltsfield Road to Smyth Road and the continuation along Smyth road to the river crossing at the North Para River.
Both roads are two lane, two way, rural sealed roads. Smyth Road carries approximately 1050 vehicles per day (VPD) and Stonewell 1700 VPD with nearly 7% of those vehicles being commercial. The road has a posted speed limit of 80km/h and has some limitations in its formation width.
At the intersection of Stonewell and Seppeltsfield Road a suitable asphalt apron will be constructed to withstand heavy vehicle traffic.
It is proposed to seal the shoulders on both sides of Smyth and Stonewell Roads to provide an overall sealed width of 8.6m with lane widths of 3.3m.
