Pilbara Operations 2019 - 2021 Weed Control Program

⁠⁠⁠Provide weed management services, including control and spraying of environmental weed species at Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) coastal and inland Operations as and when requested.

Provide all necessary labour, supervision, transportation, materials, equipment (including spraying equipment), herbicides and tools for the performance of the services. Services provided need to meet the sites legal compliance requirements for weed management. Provide botanical expertise for weed identification. Demonstrated spatial information systems experience for the purposes of mapping and annual reporting requirements on the services provided.

Management will include spraying priority weed species and targeting weed management areas deemed high risk, such as conservation significant communities and Priority Ecological Communities, drainage lines and discharge creeks, native vegetation clearing permits / approval areas with specific weed treatment conditions and rehabilitation areas as defined in the site specific weed action plans.

Service providers are encouraged to nominate and demonstrate capacity to complete weed management services for an individual or multiple regions.

Regions include:
1.RTIO Coastal (Ports, Rail & Robe Valley)
2. RTIO West (Greater Brockman, Greater Paraburdoo, Marandoo & Greater Tom Price)
3. RTIO East (Yandicoogina, West Angelas & Greater Hope Downs).
