Design, Creation and Installation of the Founders Memorial

The City is seeking an artist to design, create and install a contemporary interpretation of the existing Founders Memorial. The works must include the frieze and sails from the existing memorial, a clock, be representative of Rockingham's heritage and culture while remaining sympathetic to the history of the frieze and bronze sails and reflect Rockingham's foreshore precinct and culture.

The Founders Memorial is located on Railway Terrace near the intersection of Railway Terrace, Patterson Road, Kent Street and Parkin Street, Rockingham.

The existing Founders Memorial is made of a square brick pier, approximately four metres high and one metre wide. The uppermost portion of the pier is faced with bronze relief panels depicting nautical scenes and a sculpture of a sailing boat. A clock and an inscription are located on the southern face of the pier.

Tenders close at 2:00pm, Wednesday, 5 September 2018 at the City's Administration Centre, Civic Boulevard, Rockingham.

Request for tender documents, containing full details of the work and details regarding the lodgement of tenders, will be available for collection from 10am on Monday, 13 August 2018.

The submission of tenders via facsimile or electronic mail will not be accepted.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Canvassing of the Mayor or Councillors will lead to automatic disqualification.
