Flying Fox Deterrent Services

⁠⁠⁠Cairns Regional Council is calling for experienced contractors or operators who are knowledgeable in the requirements of flying fox behaviour, roosts and particularly dispersal or deterrence techniques.

Council currently utilises an acoustic device for carrying out non-destructive deterrent works from specific council areas. The contractor will be required to operate this device or utilise other non-destructive methods to deter or disperse Spectacled Flying Foxes (Pteropus conspicillatus) from roosting in specific areas in the Cairns city centre and other identified areas.
