Tender Description

Council is seeking submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced Tenderers for the redevelopment of the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden Visitor Centre which will include construction of new facilities, renovations and additions to existing facilities.

The Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden has an area of approximately 42 hectares (about 100 acres) and is part of Mogo State Forest, adjacent to Deep Creek Dam. The site has convenient access from Princes Highway, 5km south of Batemans Bay.

Forestry Corporation NSW leases the land to Eurobodalla Shire Council on the understanding that it will be used for a Botanic Garden.
With three quarters of the Garden covered with natural forest, this area provides a valuable opportunity for visitors to appreciate many of the region's plants in a natural setting.

The Garden has all the necessary facilities to enjoy a comfortable, safe and healthy outing in a natural bush environment. The Garden is a popular place for families, community groups, schools and anyone interested in the unique and beautiful environment.

The Gardens have the following facilities:
* Accessible parking and accessible toilets in the Visitor Centre and at the Children's Play Space,
* Several kilometres of low gradient paths giving access to display gardens and the Arboretum,
* The Gardens Cafe - Cakes and meals are all made on the premises. The Gardens Cafe also caters for special events,
* The Meeting Room - The Gardens have a small meeting room adjoining the cafe that is available for private use. Suitable for presentations for up to 50 people and also able to accommodate approximately 30 people for dining.
* Picnic areas and electric barbecues - Free all-weather electric barbecues, tables and seating are available. The picnic area is large enough for lots of different group activities.
