Tourism & Economic Development Strategy for Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council

⁠⁠⁠Council is looking to extend a pre-existing tourism plan (Gundagai Tourism Strategy) to cover the whole Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council area and also to incorporate initiatives in the Council Economic Development Strategy to create a cohesive Tourism and Economic Development Strategy for the new Council.

This will include undertaking a full review of its current Visitor Services. This is in recognition of the fact that ultimately the areas of tourism and economic development are strongly linked. Studies show that tourism not only supplies necessary trade to local business to stimulate their productivity and create new job opportunities, it also increases community wellbeing by making additional facilities and services viable, and in turn makes the area a more attractive place to live.

Council is seeking to develop and implement a Tourism and Economic Development Strategy to inform this work to the year 2025.
