Tender Description
An embankment failure at the south eastern wing wall of the single lane Eureka (Road) Bridge was detected in early 2017. As such Council engaged Coffey to undertake a geotechnical investigation and eventually detailed design for the remediation of the failed embankment.
After the 4 stage investigative process Council elected to reconstruct the entire southern embankment bridge approach, rather than repairing the isolated failure. Throughout the design process, opportunity for improvements to the safety and amenity of the bridge asset has been sought. This has resulted in line of site tree clearing, guardrail improvements and approach widening for the future upgrade to a dual lane bridge.
Council therefore is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Principal Contractor to undertake the rehabilitation of the embankment as per the design plans and specifications in this Request For Tender.
Council is open to accept alternative and innovative tenders. It is not a requirement to submit a conforming tender.
