Cairns Shipping Development Project Dredging Contractor

⁠⁠⁠The Far North Queensland Ports Corporation Limited, trading as Ports North is responsible for the development and management of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and other regional centres in Far North Queensland including Karumba, Thursday Island, Cape Flattery and Mourilyan. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports.

The proposed Cairns Shipping Development Project (CSDP) will provide improved port infrastructure to promote expansion of the cruise shipping industry in Cairns and the wider region and support and improve the cruise shipping experience offering along the east coast of Australia. The improved infrastructure will also benefit other trading industries in the port of Cairns through improved port access and greater efficiencies.

The project is now advancing to the delivery procurement phase. A two-stage (EOI and Tender) process is being used to procure a dredging contractor to complete the dredging scope of work. The first stage consists of seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced dredging contractors capable of delivering the dredging work in the required 2019 timeframe.
