The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is proposing to install a new type of edge line treatment as an alternative to Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM). DPTI has undertaken trials of a new product called Bituminous Edge Line Rumble Strips (BELRS). The trials for this product were successful and as such DPTI now require a large volume of these to be installed for further assessment.
DPTI is seeking proposals from experienced bituminous Contractors to put forward an innovative and efficient construction methodology for the new BELRS.
The innovative construction methodology should maximise the use of mechanical processes as much as possible to reduce the amount of labour, time and costs required for the construction. In doing so the Contractor should develop an efficient construction method to be used for this new product.
