The University of Adelaide, established in 1874, has over 25,000 students and 3,500 staff and researchers. The University has a strong reputation internationally as a leading research and teaching institution. The University of Adelaide's Veterinary Health Centre at Roseworthy in South Australia has four units and offers a range of first opinion, ambulatory and specialist veterinary care across all animal species to the general public and referring veterinarians.
These centres offer diagnostic services and student teaching facilities and includes:
* Companion Animal health
* Production Animal health
* Equine Health
* Veterinary Diagnostics
The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences procures a broad range of veterinary consumables used in research areas including vet science, surgery, equine science and general veterinary care.
In addition, Lab Animal Services in North Terrace Campus also procures a range of consumables used in research applications and will also utilise the proposed supply agreement.
The estimated annual expenditure is approximately $1M across the category of veterinary consumables.
The majority of spend is uncontracted which consequently provides a great opportunity to establish formal managed agreements with one of more suppliers dependent on the best value outcome for the University.
The University of Adelaide has implemented an eProcurement system across all its faculties and departments, and we wish to offer our staff access to suppliers catalogues via punch-out wherever possible. (Punch-out catalogues are externally hosted catalogues our staff will access via our eProcurement system). The key feature we require is for our Staff to be able to choose items from your online catalogues and then return with those items to the University of Adelaide internal shopping cart. On completion of the Purchasing process, a Purchase Order can be generated and sent to your organisation. Tenderers are encouraged to address this capability in your response to this RFT.
Overall the University of Adelaide is seeking to finalise a contract or number of contracts that provides best value for money, fit for purpose products that are of a good quality to serve the stakeholder community.
Emphasis is placed on how suppliers can maintain highly efficient and timely delivery performance in accordance with agreed service level criteria.
Tenderers are encouraged to provide details of any additional relevant expertise or value added products and services as part of their offer.
