Tender Description

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) are required to control pest species in order to meet its legislative and other management responsibilities. Strategic and reactive management of wild dogs and other vertebrate pest species is guided by the Regional Operations Plan, Branch Pest Management Strategy and other local plans with the primary aim being to minimise the impact pest species have on neighbour’s livestock enterprises and to protect known populations of threatened species.

South Coast Branch (SCB) is a significant stakeholder in five wild dog management plan areas. In order for SCB to manage wild dogs, control works need to occur concurrently in various locations and be able to be implemented within short timeframes that are dictated by the occurrence of stock attacks and other wild dog activity.

South Coast Branch (SCB) has significant threatened species populations and detailed plans for the control of vertebrate pests affecting their viability. This work aims to improve the prospects of threatened native animal populations both on and off park estate, specifically beach nesting birds, southern brown bandicoot, long footed potoroo, smoky mice and brush tailed rock wallabies amongst others. There is also a small about of trapping for control of feral pigs and cats.

The aim of this tender is to attract experienced, efficient and reliable suppliers that can undertake the specified baiting, trapping and shooting work.
