Tender Description

DILGP-EDQ-0354-17B Provision of Civil Contractor, Stage S – Carseldine Urban Village

Economic Development Queensland invites you to respond to DILGP-EDQ-0354-17B Provision of Civil Contractor, Stage S – Carseldine Urban Village.

Background - Carseldine Urban Village is located within the Fitzgibbon Priority Development Area (PDA) and is the first urban renewal project announced under the Advancing our cities and regions (AOCR) strategy to be delivered by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ). Renewal of the 45 hectare site is expected deliver up to 900 homes for approximately 2000 new residents. It will also deliver commercial and retail space supporting around 600 jobs, in addition to the 900 workers in the existing government office precinct onsite, catalysing investment in the local community.

Requirements - The civil construction works are required to deliver a 4 hectare sport and recreation precinct (Stage S). The construction of a new sport and recreation precinct (Stage S) is a key outcome of the PDA development scheme. The current open space located within the site (located in proposed Stage 1) is highly used by the public and government workers and their safety, along with limiting impacts to the local fauna and flora and child care centre, are key priorities.

Site Visit - It is strongly recommended that a site inspection is undertaken prior to submitting an offer. A key consideration for successful appointment will be safe traffic management. Noise, dust control and safe movement of vehicles will be a key consideration as highlighted by the inclusion of traffic management methodology criteria. The site has constrained access points to the construction site and existing users include C&K Child Care and Government Office Precinct workers. Members of the public access the site to visit the Department of Main Roads and Transport to undertake learner driver tests and to utilise the current playing fields. It is not mandatory for Suppliers to attend a site visit in order to submit an offer. A site visit will not be arranged by EDQ and tenderers are invited to inspect the site. No prior approval is required.
