RW Corkery & Co Pty Limited (RWC) has been engaged by Walker Quarries Pty Ltd (WQ) to seek registrations of interest from Aboriginal groups or individuals of the Wallerawang and Lithgow areas who wish to be consulted over Aboriginal cultural heritage relating to a proposed extension to the area and term of the Wallerawang Quarry (the Quarry).
The Quarry is located at 963 Great Western Hwy, south of Wallerawang and approximately 8km northwest of Lithgow on land adjoining the Great Western Highway to the (Lot 7071, DP1201227. Lot 6, DP872230; and Lot 322, DPI 149335).
A known Aboriginal site (open camp site) has been identified at the Quarry within the area proposed for extension.
The consultation is to assist RWC, WO and archeological consultants in the management of the known site, design and completion of a field survey over the Quarry Site, and to assist in assessment and determination of the proposed Quarry modification.
