Mannum Leisure Centre Roof Upgrade

⁠⁠⁠The Mid Murray Council (the Council) invites tenders from Tenderers for the Mannum Leisure Centre Re-Roof and Associated Works located at 51 Adelaide Road, Mannum (the Service).

The Mannum Leisure Centre is in need of significant repair work, particularly to the roof, and the works are becoming quite urgent. To date, minor repair works have been carried out on an ‘as-needs’ basis but the major repair works now needs to take place. The major works will include:

• Removal of 1600m2 of asbestos roof sheeting and replacement with Colorbond roof sheeting;
• Replacement of insulation;
• Replacement of all windows and window frames;
• Replacement of all fascias, gutters and downpipes;
• Installation of static line for safety to roof ladders for access; and
• Other associated works.

Given the existence of a significant amount of asbestos in the roof, the works cannot be carried out in a staged manner. As soon as the asbestos is disturbed it will all need to be removed in its entirety. The timing of the works will complicate matters given it will be important not to significantly disrupt the current program of the Mannum Leisure Centre as it is the primary community/sporting facility for the town and surrounds.

A compulsory site visit and briefing will occur commencing at 1:00pm - Tuesday 15 May 2018 at the Mannum Leisure Centre located at 51 Adelaide Road, Mannum. No roof access will be provided.
