Request for Proposal - Terminal Receival and Delivery Services - Newcastle General Cargo Terminal

⁠⁠⁠Port of Newcastle Operations Pty Limited as trustee for the Port of Newcastle Unit Trust (PON) invites suppliers to submit a proposal for the supply of receival and delivery services, providing a vital link between the common-user stevedoring activities and third-party transport activities for the handling of general cargoes at the Port of Newcastle General Cargo Terminal.

Submissions are sought from Respondents capable of servicing any of the complete requirements detailed in Schedule A (Scope of Supply). Respondents are to complete and submit the returnable schedules shown in Schedule C (Returnable Documentation).

Respondents are also invited and encouraged to submit additional alternative operating and commercial structures that can be demonstrated to better serve the interests of the stakeholders, with the key stakeholders being shippers and cargo owners, shipping lines, stevedores, trucking and other logistics companies as well as the Port of Newcastle and the operating partner. Alternative structures must be in addition to the requested proposal and accompanied by a clear outline of how they would operationally and commercially be an improvement on the structure outlined within this document. Port of Newcastle are particularly interested in the manner in which Respondents would propose to work in conjunction with PoN to:-
a) Improve the efficiency of the general cargo operations
b) Drive improvements in effectiveness of the general cargo operations
c) Optimise trade through the Port of Newcastle
d) Grow the volume of general cargoes at Port of Newcastle

Alternative structures that can be demonstrated to meet the above objectives will be held in high regard.
