Desktop Review & Resurvey of Pesticide Use Within Hunter Water's Drinking Water Catchments
Tender ID: 352937
Tender Details
Tender Description
Hunter Water has undertaken routine screening of organochlorine and organophosphate pesticides in bulk source waters since the mid 1990s. The vast majority of results from these screenings had historically returned non-detects. It was found that many of these pesticides were no longer available or used therefore NSW Health requested a more targeted pesticide monitoring program be developed to assess the risks from actual pesticides used in our catchments.
A desktop survey of pesticides used in Hunter Water drinking water catchments was undertaken by WorleyParsons in 2012. The survey resulted in a recommended revised pesticide monitoring program of over 240 pesticides which commenced in 2013 and is still in place at present. From the available data to date there have been occasional low levels of pesticide detections below the ADWG guideline values.
This consultancy involves undertaking a desktop review and resurvey of pesticide use within Hunter Water Corporation's Drinking Water Catchments. From this review, Hunter Water aims to strategically re-align its pesticide monitoring in line with currently used pesticides types, applications and frequencies, to further refine the current monitoring program that commenced in 2013.
Duration of Contract: The engagement is to be completed within sixteen (16) weeks from the date of the Letter of Award (including review periods).
Closing Date and Time - Tenders close at 2.00 pm on Thursday 10 May 2018, and submissions must be fully received by this time.
