Potential upcoming tender opportunity.

The Queensland Government, acting through the Department of Housing and Public Works - Building and Asset Services will be releasing an invitation to offer (ITO) on behalf of Cairns and Hinterland Hospital, Health Services inviting contractors to submit an offer for the following project within the Far North Queensland region:
Project: Youth Prevention and Recovery Centre.

Overview:
* The facility includes accommodation for up to 6 occupants and an over night care person. The building itself is classified as a Class 3 (Accommodation) and Class 5 (Administration) building with secure access control between the staff administration areas and the accommodation areas.
* The architecture is designed to provide a domestic feel rather than a commercial or clinical feel.
* Bedrooms and common use areas are designed to include anti-ligature construction, furniture and fittings to mental health standards.
* The external landscaped area includes a yarning circle, zen garden, planting areas and basketball half court.
* There is a service area at the rear of the building where storage sheds and the air conditioning equipment is located.
* The site is fully fenced and includes a Lych Gate at the entrance.

Invitation to Offer:
The Invitation to Offer (tender) is anticipated to go to market on the Building and Asset Services eTender website https://www.hpw.qld.gov.au/bas/etender/ in April 2018.

Where a PQC Level is stated, the Principal is not obliged to provide tender documents, consider or accept a tender unless the tenderer is appropriately registered under the Queensland Government's PQC System for the PQC Level (or higher) and categories for which the tender is invited.
