Operation of the Cloncurry Swimming Pool

⁠⁠⁠Council wishes to engage a contractor to lease the Cloncurry Swimming Pool for the 2018 to 2021 season, with an option to renew the lease for the 2021 to 2022 Summer swimming season.

The Cloncurry Swimming Pool is a key piece of community infrastructure that attracts a high attendance during the Summer Season between September and April. The successful Tenderer would be responsible for keeping the Swimming Pool open for Minimum Opening Hours throughout the Summer Season as well as maintaining the grounds and managing the on-site kiosk during the Summer Season.

If tenderers wish to do so, they may also submit a separate proposal to operate the Swimming Pool the whole year round (i.e. including the Winter Season between May and September.

Council will pay a Management Fee to the successful tenderer in exchange for the Tenderer's management of the Swimming Pool. The successful tenderer will collect and retain all entry fees from Patrons entering the Premises and all proceeds from kiosk sales.

Council advises all perspective tenderers that it is currently undertaking the development of the Florence Clark Masterplan Project which includes both the Florence Clark Park and the adjacent land on which the Swimming Pool is located.

In the event that the Project impacts on or proposes the development of infrastructure on or adjacent to the Swimming Pool including, but not limited to a water park, Council reserves the right to negotiate with the successful tender and amend the lease or enter into a new lease for the management of this additional infrastructure for the remaining Term of the original Lease.
