Burketown Sewerage Treatment Plant Upgrade Project

⁠⁠⁠Burke Sire Council (the Principal) is seeking Expressions of Interest for the upgrading of the Burketown wastewater treatment plant (WwTP) in remote North West Queensland.

The existing wastewater treatment plant no longer meets Council's requirements for reliability, operability and treatment effectiveness. As such it has been recommended that the plant be replaced by a new, fit-for-purpose packaged WwTP.

This expression of interest includes the following requirements:
(1) Removal of existing wastewater packaged treatment plant;
(2) Design and Installation of new packaged treatment plant, capable of:
(2)(a) Meeting the nominated effluent requirements on Council's Environmental Authority;
(2)(b) Providing additional treatment capable of producing Class A (preferred) or Class C recycled water;
(3) Re-work existing pre-treatment storage lagoons and construct new post-treatment lagoon;
(4) Design and install sludge treatment, capable of producing sludge suitable for beneficial reuse.
