Tender Description

Tenders are invited from organisations capable of meeting Port of Newcastle's Raven Street and Denison Street Electrical Upgrades.

The Port of Newcastle is reconfiguring the existing networks at the two sites. Both projects comprise both contestable and private installation components.

Denison Street, Carrington:

Port of Newcastle is reconfiguring the existing network, the works will involve the installation of a new Ausgrid owned kiosk transformer and Port of Newcastle owned Main LV Switchboard. The proposed main switchboard will service the entire site including the existing tenant Svitzer.
Currently there are three Ausgrid 11000/415V kiosks on site including:
* 21514 - which services the existing tenant Svitzer
* 28465 - currently de-energised and redundant
* 28461 - currently de-energised and redundant

After the proposed installation the three existing kiosks on site will become redundant. Port of Newcastle assume the costs of removing kiosk 21514 as per the completed contestable project and Ausgrid will be responsible for removing kiosk 28465 and 28461.

Raven Street, Kooragang:

Currently the J Steel site, lot 151 Raven Street is supplied from the existing Ausgrid 33kV network via a 33kV / 415 V 315kVA Port of Newcastle owned pole top transformer connected to a 415V distribution board with a 400A main switch.

Due to the location of the pole top transformer and Ausgrid owned 33kV overhead lines being well within the property boundary it is the preference of both Ausgrid and Port of Newcastle to relocate the point of supply back towards the main 33kV network. The works will involve the provision of new electrical supplies to Lots 152 & 153 DP1202458 whilst maintaining supply to Lot 151.
