Supply & Installation of New Automatic Irrigation Systems at Selected Locations

⁠⁠⁠Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for Supply & Installation of New Automatic Irrigation Systems at Selected Locations.

(1) Separable Portion 1: Punchbowl Park - Rose St, Punchbowl
(2) Separable Portion 2: Blick Oval - Holden St, Canterbury

A full description of the nature and extent of the services required by Council are set out in Section 3 of this Request.

Scope of the works generally includes demolition of some of the existing irrigation systems and installation of the new specified automatic irrigation components at each site.

Refer to drawings which are separately attached to this document.

In accordance with clause 2.5 Council retains the right to award the contract on a separable portions basis. Tenderers may submit for one or more of the separable portions.

Should the two (2) separable portions be awarded to one Tenderer, then the entire works under the contract must be completed on or before 11 July 2018.

Therefore the works for these projects shall be concurrently undertaken.

The commencement date is 28 May 2018. Completion date on or before 11 July 2018.

3.2 Description of Services
(1) Preliminaries
(a) Preparation of a traffic control plan (TCP), prior to commencement of any work for the safe control of egress/ingress at the main entry point off Henry Lawson Drive as well as safe movement of pedestrians/park users during construction.
(b) Site establishment; including temporary fencing, shade cloth, temporary signs, compound etc.
(c) Preparation of and submission of a dilapidation report to the Superintendents Representative in the form of a report and photographs of all site features, adjacent properties, fences, etc. prior to the commencement of any work. This report must be provided prior to grant of site possession to Contractor.
(d) Erosion and sedimentation control of the works, including stockpile areas. The locations of stockpile areas will be discussed between Council and the contractor and agreed upon prior to commencement of works.
(e) Setting out of the works by a qualified Engineering Surveyor (by others).
(f) Liaison with public and/or private service authorities and/or companies.
(g) Regular weekly meetings between the Contractor’s representatives and Council’s representatives during construction at the Contractor’s site office. The frequency of these meetings may vary should the need arise.
(h) Protection and/or support of existing services.
(i) Suppression of dust during construction.
(j) Ongoing maintenance of the work in terms of rectifying any hazards, erosion control, etc. during the course of contract to practical completion.
(k) Site clean-up, restoration of damaged surfaces upon completion of works and disestablishment.
(l) Rubbish and graffiti shall be removed. Any damage to function or appearance of the works shall be rectified by the Contractor without delay at the Contractor's cost.

(2) SP1: Punchbowl Park - Rose St, Punchbowl
The works will include but not be limited to:
(a) Construction of 120 kl concrete tank
(b) New power supply from the existing distribution board
(c) Connection to existing potable mainline
(d) Installation of a new automatic irrigation system
(e) Installation of a new variable speed-controlled pump set
(f) Supply and installation of all irrigation components required to complete the design intent

(3) SP2: Blick Oval - Holden St, Canterbury
The works will include but not be limited to:
(a) Salvage of existing irrigation components
(b) Connection to existing irrigation mainline
(c) Installation of a new automatic irrigation system
(d) Supply and installation of a new central controller
(e) Supply and installation of all irrigation components required to complete the design intent
