Tender Description

3.1 Objectives of Council
Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified and experienced Tenderers for T29-18 Bankstown Basketball Stadium Fire System Upgrade. The scope of works generally includes:
(1) Removal and disposal of all items specified in the attached documents including the main entry access ramp, existing steel balustrades and barriers, entry and storeroom doors, western grand stand seating, kerb ramp and bollards in the carpark.
(2) Construction and installation of a new entry and kerb ramp and associated civil, earth works to support the associated pavements.
(3) Supply and installation of handrails, stair modifications and tactile indicators.
(4) Supply and installation of all carpentry including timber stairs, fire rated doors and door frames, door fire seals, aluminium framed glazed doors and door hardware components in this project.
(5) Plasterboard linings and painting to the storeroom, internal carpentry and doors, steelwork and all internal metal work.
(6) Supply and installation of all electrical services including Main switchboard, lights and emergency lighting.
(7) Supply and installation of all signage decals and line marking.
(8) Provision of As- Built Plans, Maintenance Manuals, Certifications and Warranties.

3.2 Description of Services
(1) Preliminaries
(a) Preparation of a pedestrian traffic control plan due to the site is situated at a relatively busy carpark.
(b) Notification in writing (flyers provided by the Superintendent) of all directly affected property/business owners/occupiers for a minimum of 72 hours prior to commencing of works.
(c) Site establishment; including temporary fencing, shade cloth, temporary signs, compound etc.
(d) Preparation of and submission of a dilapidation report to the Superintendents Representative in the form of a report and photographs of all site features, adjacent properties, shop entrances, etc. prior to the commencement of any work. This report must be provided prior to grant of site possession to Contractor.
(e) Erosion and sedimentation control of the Works, including stockpile areas. The locations of stockpile areas will be discussed between Council and the contractor and agreed upon prior to commencement of works.
(f) Liaison with public and/or private service authorities and/or companies.
(g) Regular weekly meetings between the Contractor’s representatives and Council’s representatives during construction at the Contractor’s site office. The frequency of these meetings may vary should the need arise.
(h) Protection and/or support of existing services.
(i) Suppression of dust during construction.
(j) Ongoing maintenance of the work in terms of rectifying any hazards, erosion control, etc. during the course of contract to practical completion.
(k) Site clean-up, restoration of damaged surfaces upon completion of works and disestablishment.
(l) Rubbish and graffiti shall be removed. Any damage to function or appearance of the works shall be rectified by the Contractor without delay at the Contractor's cost.

(2) Demolition Works
(a) Demolish existing kerb ramp including removal of debris, in preparation for new ramp including scabbling if necessary.
(b) Main entry ramp, allow to modify the existing ramp including concrete, balustrade, etc and remove debris and preparation for new ramp including scabbling if necessary.
(c) Northern entry ramp dismantle and allow to modify the existing ramps including concrete, balustrade, etc. and remove debris and preparation for new ramp including scabbling if necessary.
(d) Remove and dispose of entry doors and framing including overhead signage. Protect existing exit sign for reinstatement. Provide secure accessible hoarding to front entry in the time between removal of existing doors and installation of new entry doors.
(e) Remove of existing bollards and make good asphalt surface.
(f) Remove and dispose of store room doors.
(g) Remove two rows of two chairs in next to each column and dispose.

(3) Concrete Works
(a) Form and install reinforced concrete to approved specifications for insitu concrete ramp, laid to falls and cross falls as specified at the front entry comprising 32 MPa concrete, formwork, SL72 mesh reinforcement, broom surface finish and all joints, including finish to exposed side of the ramp.
(b) Form and install reinforced concrete kerb ramp to approved specifications for insitu concrete kerb ramp, laid to falls and cross falls as specified comprising 32 MPa concrete, formwork, SL72 mesh reinforcement, broom surface finish and all joints.
(c) Allow to install concrete within new bollards to accessible parking.

(4) Metal Works
(a) Supply and install handrails to both sides of the newly constructed ramp. The handrail is required to be installed to the inside of the brick column and continue around the column to form part of the handrail to the steps as noted below. The handrail shall be galvanised steel, painted blue to match the existing handrails within the building.
(b) The downpipe located along the path must be cut back to match the height of the new ramp.
(c) The steel columns must be adjusted and the baseplate modified to meet the new height and gradient of the ramp.
(d) Supply and install additional horizontal railing to the existing balustrade to reduce gaps to no greater than 125mm and paint blue to match existing as per BOQ.
(e) Plastic pad tactile indicators; bonded to floor surface substrate in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
(f) Provide concrete filled steel bollards to the end of each shared zone in accordance with AS2890.6-2009 (concrete measured separately).
