Department of State Development - South Australian Equine Centre

⁠⁠⁠1718147 - The Government of South Australia, through the Department of State Development (DSD) is considering the feasibility of establishing an equine facility in the State. The equine facility, which would offer opportunities for events, education and training, tourism and industry development, would leverage off South Australia’s diversified equine sector, which encapsulates racing and equestrian activities.

DSD is exploring the need for a Business Case, the purpose of which would be to:
* Establish the feasibility of an equine centre located in South Australia, including demand, cost and benefits
* Consider a range of potential location options (i.e. different regions in South Australia) for the facility, assess the options and identify a preferred option
* Once a preferred location (and site) has been identified, develop series of infrastructure, service and operational options for the facility, which can be assessed in the business. Identify a preferred project option, describing the mix of assets and services to be developed
* Develop the preferred development with a masterplan, cost, facilities and other components that will enable decision making by key stakeholders at DSD and elsewhere to determine whether or not to support the concept. This may also include consideration of a staged approach to facility development.
