Tender Description
The Burwood WWTW is Hunter Water's largest wastewater treatment facility. The plant treats an average dry weather flow of approximately 48 million litres per day and serves the equivalent of approximately 185,000 people (25% of Hunter Water customers).
The outfall was constructed in 1989 and comprises of a vertical shaft 4.5 metres in diameter and 86 metres deep and a horizontal tunnel that is 2.4 metres in diameter and is approximately 1.9 kilometres long. The ocean outfall has been in continual service since construction was completed and has never been internally inspected.
This RFI is an information gathering process in which Hunter Water seeks to collect information on technology capable of undertaking the inspection and what data will be collected. In addition Hunter Water seeks to understand the access requirements for deploying and retrieving equipment from the access shaft.
