Ports North is responsible for the development, management and maintenance of port facilities vital to the development of Cairns and regional centres in Far North Queensland. The Corporation has extensive property, marina, tourism and cargo facilities in Cairns and its regional ports.
Ports North owns a barge mounted crane that is used for grab dredging to maintain the required water depths in the Marina and to berthing areas of all wharves and Jetties throughout the port. The existing crane is nearing the end of its service life and is becoming unreliable and costly to repair. The works included in this contract covers the replacement of the existing crane with a new crane, disposal of the existing crane, and all works required to fit the new crane, including design and certification of vessel stability.
Ports North invites tenders from suitably qualified and available Contractors with appropriate experience in projects of this nature.
