Alert SA was a public mobile app and website service managed by the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM). Alert SA provided the community with a central source of all hazards public safety and warning information.
The Alert SA app recently suffered two critical service disruptions in October 2017 and January 2018.
Alert SA was provided in a full Solution-as-a-Service (SAAS) arrangement to SAFECOM.
Following the service disruptions, the contracted service provider of the Alert SA app and website could not provide adequate assurance that the service would provide appropriate reliability in the future to the South Australian community.
As a result the Alert SA app was decommissioned from 11 January 2018 and the Alert SA website replaced with an interim holding page.
The Emergency Services Sector (ESS) is seeking information in relation to an Alert SA Replacement Solution from the ICT Market to inform a business case.
