Tender Description
Cloncurry Shire Council has a long-term plan to upgrade Sheaffe St between Coppermine Creek Bridge and Alice St. Council are now requesting tenders for the construction of the second stage of these works, Sheaffe St Stage 2.
Sheaffe St Stage 2 will extend from the finish of Stage 1 in the vicinity of Ramsay St in the south to the northern side of a new roundabout to be installed at the intersection of Sheaffe St with Daintree St (please refer to Request for Tender document for diagram of location).
For specific information on the scope of works required, please refer to Request for Tender document and associated drawing and ancillary documentation.
Similar to Sheaffe St Stage 1, the scope of Sheaffe St Stage 2 includes the construction of:
* Underground drainage
* Pavement upgrades
* Kerb and Channel
* Landscaping & Irrigation
* Signage
* Linemarking
* Asphalt surfacing
* Pedestrian facilities
* 2 Roundabouts
Sheaffe St Stage 2 is funded by a combination of council, state and federal funding. A condition of the state and federal funding council has available is that the project is completed and acquitted in the 2017/2018 financial year. To enable acquittal of project costs in council's financial system prior to the end of the financial year, the date of practical completion for this project has been set for Friday 15 June 2018.
Council plans to award the tender by the 9th of March 2018 with works to commence later that month, weather permitting. A compulsory tender briefing and site visit will be held on 13 February 2018.
Note: Council expects to publish a tender addendum containing the addition of water main replacement works to the general scope of this contract by the 9th of February 2018.
