Establishment of a Standing Offer Arrangement Panel for the Yellow Crazy Ants Eradication Program

⁠⁠⁠WTMA requires the services of external organisations to provide skilled field crews to assist with the Authority’s Yellow Crazy Ant Eradication Program within the Cairns region. Crews are required to regularly conduct fieldwork in rugged terrain or open areas and perform tasks in hot, humid conditions. Crews are to have competencies in hand tools, small motor machinery and/or chemical application.

The Wet Tropics Management Authority (WTMA) Yellow Crazy Ants Eradication Program has issued this Invitation to Offer with the objectives of:
* Provide WTMA with supplementary labour resources to help effectively eradicate identified YCA infestations threatening World Heritage values and mitigate the risk of spread of the YCA to additional areas within or adjoining the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area
* Provide opportunities for additional training and greater certainty of employment for local labour suppliers, particularly Indigenous groups and individuals with a connection to the land
* Increase the effectiveness and transparency of the delivery of the eradication program, and its ability to rapidly respond to identified threats.
* The procurement of pre-approved, appropriately skilled and resourced local labour resources in a timely and cost-efficient manner, whilst ensuring due diligence is being met in terms of finance, insurance liability, compliance to safety, environmental and human resources legislative requirements.
