Tyre Management Project for the South Hedland Landfill Site

⁠⁠⁠The Principal operates the South Hedland Landfill at the end of North Circular Road, South Hedland, Western Australia. The Principal is experiencing difficulties with the rapid consumption of landfill space due to tyre disposal. The Landfill site currently has a Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) operating Licence permitting a total of 50,000 tyres to be stored on the premises (Licence number: L6917/1997/8). While legacy issues have made assessments difficult, there are estimated to be 14000 m3 of tyres currently onsite, which is anticipated to equate to a number of tyres exceeding their Licenced capacity.
