Tender Description

The Department of Environment and Science (DES) is seeking quotes for the Design, Certification, Construction, Transportation, Deployment/installation of up to six (6) Mooring Blocks and associated equipment/tackle at the ex-HMAS Tobruk dive site within Great Sandy Marine Park.

Ex-HMAS Tobruk has been gifted to the Queensland Government to be prepared and scuttled as a world class dive site in the Hervey Bay area within the Great Sandy Marine Park.

The ship is presently berthed in the Port of Bundaberg where it is undergoing preparatory works, for scuttling (scheduled for June 2018). Once scuttled, the dive site will require vessel moorings to be installed to enable commercial and public access.

The Department requires an experienced contractor to:
* Design and provide certification of mooring diagrams and mooring arrangements;
* To transport and deployed/installed, at the proposed resting place (dive site) for ex-HMAS Tobruk within Great Sandy Marine Park. up to six (6) 17t concrete mooring blocks and associated mooring tackle (contractor to supply)
* Submit a Marine Execution Plan for all operations undertaken requiring vessels for approval by the Regional Harbour Master

Positioning of blocks will be based on the mooring arrangement developed - likely to be; four (4) moorings positioned around bridge and stern and one (1) mooring at the bow of the vessel. The location of the last mooring block, if required it still to be determined.
