Tender Description
There are approximately sixty eight customers that receive unfiltered water directly from the Chichester Trunk Gravity Main (CTGM) between Chichester Dam and the Dungog Water Treatment Plant. The customers predominantly have the CTGM pipeline pass through their property.
The majority of the customers are residential or rural customers and use the water for typical household uses and for irrigation and stock watering. There are seven commercial customers who operate accommodation services.
Water in the CTGM upstream of the Dungog Water Treatment Plant is not suitable for potable uses without treatment. There are sources of potential contamination in the Chichester catchment.
The Principal is providing the customers with a water source that is suitable for potable uses. The preferred option for residential and rural customers is to provide a rainwater tank for all potable uses. For commercial customers the option of providing a filter system will be considered. The unfiltered water from the CTGM can continue to be used for non-potable purposes, such as irrigation and stock watering.
