Transformer Maintenance

Summary of Specification
The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.

Purpose of Work
a) Maintain Delta Electricity’s Transformers in a cost effective manner for a period of two (2) years at Vales Point Power Station;
b) Provide immediate response to Transformer conditions that may impact on plant availability, safety or performance; and
c) Maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge of Transformer components some of which are without Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support.

Extent of Work
The Contract consists of eight (8) portions and they are as the follows:
a) Portion 1 - Scheduled maintenance of Unit 6 Transformers at Vales Point Power Station in the first half of the 2018 calendar year;
b) Portion 2 - Scheduled maintenance of Unit 5 Transformers at Vales Point Power Station in the second half of the 2018 calendar year;
c) Portion 3 - Scheduled maintenance of Unit 6 Transformers at Vales Point Power Station in the first half of the 2019 calendar year;
d) Portion 4 - Scheduled maintenance of Unit 5 Transformers at Vales Point Power Station in the second half of the 2019 calendar year;
e) Portion 5 - Scheduled maintenance of 132kV Station Transformer 3 at Vales Point Power Station;
f) Portion 6 - Scheduled maintenance of 132kV Station Transformer 4 at Vales Point Power Station;
g) Portion 7 - Scheduled maintenance of Spare Generator Transformer at Vales Point Power Station; and
h) Portion 8 - Unscheduled Maintenance works of various Transformers on a Schedule of Rates basis (SOR) at Vales Point Power Station.

Scope of Work
The scope of work is specified in three ways:
a) Scheduled Maintenance. This is all work nominated in the contract portions with the exception of the SOR portion (Portion 8). This work is specific to a transformer or group of transformers and is carried out either during the cyclically planned outages or during otherwise programmed work schedules at each power station;
b) Unscheduled Maintenance as Nominated by Delta Electricity. This will be requested by Delta Electricity in the form of a written work direction. The work will be specified by nominated tasks from the Schedule of Rates portions of the contract or, where a rate does not exist for a specified task, the hourly rates and Cost Plus will apply; and
c) Unscheduled Maintenance Resulting From Other Works. This includes unscheduled maintenance as a consequence of what may be revealed during Scheduled Maintenance work or additional Unscheduled Maintenance Nominated by The Principal once the Contractor is on site. This work will be specified during the course of the works and be carried out under the schedule of rates terms of the contract. The work will be specified by nominated tasks from the Schedule of Rates portions of the contract or, where a rate does not exist for a specified task, the hourly rates and Cost Plus will apply.

Note: This may include work on transformers at site additional to those for which work was originally requested.

Tender Closing Date
Quotations will close at 1.00pm on Tuesday the 13th February 2018 at Vales Point Power Station.
