**THIS IS NOT A TENDER ** THIS IS NOTICE OF AN OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND A BRIEFING SESSION PRIOR TO THE RELEASE OF THE TENDER.
BACKGROUND - Installation of Smoke Alarms
Building and Asset Services (BAS), will be inviting contractors to submit offers for the Supply and installation of Smoke Alarms across all metropolitan, regional and remote areas of Queensland to meet the legislative requirements of the Fire and Emergency Services (Domestic Smoke Alarms) Amendment Act 2016 and the Building Fire Safety (Domestic Smoke Alarms) Legislation Amendment Regulation 2016.
BAS is seeking to establish a Standing Offer Arrangement with a panel of Local Contractors, who can demonstrate value for money, for the installation of Approved Smoke Alarms in various Government owned and managed buildings across Queensland.
BAS is planning to release the tender to market in February 2018.
INDUSTRY BRIEFING SESSIONS
Industry briefing sessions will be held across the state in each region prior to the release of the ITO to:
* Explain the new smoke alarm legislation and the impact on the Queensland Government;
* Explain the Procurement Strategy;
* Provide tender details and indicative timeframes; and
* Address any questions from contractors.
The session details are provided within the attachment.
Contractors MUST register their attendance 24 hours prior to the session commencement time.
