Parkes Shire Council ("Council") is proposing to undertake an expansion of the Parkes Airport to cater for larger aircraft, accommodate increasing demand on existing facilities and enhance the facility's ability to function as a hub for a range of aviation related activities.
Civil works include but may not be limited to:
* Construction of aircraft apron and taxiway pavement areas including bulk earthworks, granular pavements and sprayed bituminous seal surfacing to airport specifications;
* Reconstruction of existing apron pavement to airport specifications;
* Protection and relocation of existing electrical services and pits affected by the proposed pavement works;
* Modifications to airfield lighting; and
* Minor modifications to stormwater drainage.
