Role of Sydney Catholic Schools
Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of the systemic schools which educate over 70,000 students in 150 parish primary and regional secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney.
SCS is seeking responses from qualified organisations who can demonstrate the required level of experience and capability in developing, delivering and managing performing arts programs as well as offering a creative and effective solution to the scope of work as outlined below.
The Service Provider will provide a solution for the development, programming, management and delivery of the CaSPA program. The scope of the CaSPA program is extensive, covering all SCS schools across areas including performance opportunities, professional development for teachers and in-school mentoring and support.
To be successful, Proponents must demonstrate the following:
1. Minimum 10 years of experience in the delivery of performing arts programs with a proven record of strong networks in the entertainment and events industry to create a range of opportunities and pathways for SCS students;
2. Minimum 10 years' experience managing large groups of teachers, schools and students in the performing arts through creative performing arts programs, events, tours and workshops;
3. Prior experience in developing and maintaining an accessible system for making performing arts resources available;
4. Prior experience in the financial management of performing arts programs;
5. A track record of increasing student access to, and engagement with, performing arts through performance and liturgical celebrations, inclusive of students with disabilities, boys, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and students with particular gifts and talents;
6. Sustained leadership in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Immersion programs;
7. Support of authentic learning in the performing arts in curriculum and pedagogy;
8. Understanding of and experience in producing vision, graphics, promotional materials and other material relevant to the school system and its ongoing educational needs in the performing arts.
9. Understanding of and compliance with NSW Child Protection legislation including how the Proponent ensures any person employed by, engaged by or associated with the Service Provider who will engage in child-related work and/or attend SCS schools in providing services under this RFT and any proposed PSA holds a Working with Children Check clearance.
