Tender Description
The Australian and Tasmanian Governments are co-investing a total of $119.6 million of Infrastructure Investment funding in the Tasmanian Freight Rail Revitalisation Program that will see priority sections of the Tasmanian Rail Network upgraded over the four years to 30 June 2019.
The following Requests for Tender (RFT) are now open:
RFT-TR-RF0172 Request for Tender IIP Crossing Upgrades Railton and Deloraine
Closing date: 24 November 2017 at 3pm
TasRail is currently seeking the services of experienced, qualified and competent Contractor(s), with track works and rail crossing experience. Work to include upgrades of two crossings and other track works commencing in January 2018.
Key Points of Tender:
* Knowledge, experience and understanding in the upgrading road crossings of rail.
* Attendance at site inspections early November.
* Works are planned to commence in January 2018.
* Timetabled rail traffic is not to be impacted by the construction works.
* TasRail to supply materials.
* Tenderers are to demonstrate their support of Tasmanian industry and businesses.
* Compliance with the Building Code 2016, the Australian Government Building and Construction Workplace Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme, Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Act 2012 and Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 and other relevant regulations.

Works to be performed under this contract may be classed as rail safety work as prescribed by Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) 2012 and as such employees and/or contractors performing such works trust be able to meet and maintain the medical criteria for a safety critical worker health assessment (category 1, 2 or 3) as prescribed by the National Standard for Health Assessment of Rail Safety Workers.
