Provision of High Dose Rate (HDR) and Pulse Dose Rate (PDR) Brachytherarpy Units (One of Each)

⁠⁠⁠Cancer Care Services at RBWH is the largest cancer care service in Queensland. The service encompasses Medical Oncology, Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant, the Queensland Haemophilia Centre and Radiation Oncology, and provides all treatment modalities within these streams.

The provision of expert, professional care is paramount in Cancer Care Services. As a tertiary centre there is also a strong focus on teaching and research. Education is provided to all levels and professional streams of staff including allied health, radiation therapy, nursing and medicine. There is a keen interest in research amongst the staff in Cancer Care Services. Many of the studies and projects undertaken have been or will be presented nationally and internationally, and in many instances staff of this service line are principal investigators. There is also a very active Clinical Trials Program and each specialty has a group of trained staff for this purpose.

With this ongoing support and a dedicated and committed team, Cancer Care Services aims to continue to provide expert, highly skilled and world class care to patients.
