UCG shall increase significantly the number of civil and cabling crews for Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) single and multi dwelling units (SDU & MDU) installs across Sydney, including our new regions of the inner west and southern suburbs, as well as in our existing region of the northern suburbs which stretches from the northern beaches to Penrith. We rely on Delivery Partners to carry out the site surveys, civil construction and cabling.

The work available:

HFC MDU & SDU Construction

Work performed includes:
• Cable hauling (CX32/50/75);
• Installation of HFC passive devices (taps, splitters, isolators, enclosures);
• MDU backbone cabling (CX32/50/75);
• Home run/lateral cabling (RG6/11);
• Testing and commissioning of HFC infrastructure;
• Directional boring, trenching, clearing blockages (civil crews).

FIBRE COMPLEX/BESPOKE/GREENFIELDS MDU

UCG perform fibre complex/bespoke MDU and greenfields MDU work across Sydney and throughout regional NSW. We want to partner with experienced optical fibre cabling and civil crews that have capability for large MDU or Commercial sites. We want to hear from cabling crews who have certifications and experience in fibre splicing, (ribbon and single), experience with fibre optic joint enclosures, OTDR testing and PON power meter testing. Experience with NBN Type 3 architecture would be very highly regarded.

FTTN COPPER GREENFIELDS (Sydney and Regional NSW)

We also want to partner with companies who have copper jointing experience and pit and pipe civils experience for copper greenfields installations in fibre to the node designated areas.
The scope of work does not include fibre node installations and will begin at the pillar and includes:

• Scoping – Rod and roping, checking pit and pipe conditions, confirming what civils remediation may be required and confirming copper ranges within the pillar. This may include direct communication with an office based designer to update Spatial ‘on the fly’ with the current jumpering setup
• Construction – Copper hauling, jointing and civils work where required.
• Coiling 2PR’s in the last pit within the development in preparation for a new building on the lot.

Your business must have:
• Workers compensation and/or accident protection insurance
• Public liability insurance
• Appropriate tools of trade

Previous experience in telecommunications especially the nbn or cable TV / broadband is preferred. UCG will provide on-boarding, access to training and support by office and field staff.
