Kimberley Ports Authority (KPA) operates and maintains the Port of Broome (Port) Wharf located in Broome, Western Australia. The Wharf is made up of the original wharf constructed in the 1960’s and the wharf extension constructed in 2007.
Approximately 15 large cruise ships visit the Port each year. An ongoing challenge with cruise ships is providing safe all tide access for passenger embarkation and disembarkation in a 10 metre tidal environment.
KPA requires the design, fabrication and commissioning of a new all tide gangway system which will improve the safety of passengers embarking and disembarking large cruise ships and other vessels in a highly tidal environment.
