Tender Description

Metro Trains Sydney (MTS) has responsibility, over a 15-year period, for the Operation of Sydney Metro Northwest (SMNW), the first fully-automated metro rail system in Australia. SMNW will operate between Cudgegong Road Station and Chatswood Station with first passenger services expected to commence mid 2019.

Stage 1 is a 36-kilometre SMNW, $8.3 billion project which opens in the first half of 2019 with a metro train every four minutes in the peak. It includes 13 stations (8 new metro stations, 5 upgraded stations) and 4,000 commuter car spaces, along with the Sydney Metro Train Facility (SMTF) consisting of Administration and Maintenance buildings. The rail line is a mixture of sky rail (viaduct) and below ground (cuttings and tunnels).

MTS is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) for stage 1, from competent companies with experience in large scale projects, primarily in the public transport industry, for the provision of Security Services required as identified in the Statement of Works at Part A.2 of this Document. MTS, in partnering with a Security agency will deliver a safe and secure environment for customers, staff, rail infrastructure and the people of New South Wales. This includes the security of the SMTF, Stations, Service Facility Buildings and accessible sections of the rail corridor.

In line with the shared goals of MTS and Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), MTS and its partners are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service with the customer at the centre of everything we do.

Applications of Expressions of Interest will allow MTS to shortlist candidates for future tenders as well as keep interested parties informed of the progress of contract requirements and dates.
