The Queensland Government has committed $4 million from the Queensland Reef Water Quality Program for projects in Central Queensland, defined for the purposes of this EOI as the Mackay-Whitsunday and Fitzroy Natural Resource Management (NRM) regions, focussed on improving management practices and productivity in the grazing, sugarcane, horticulture or grains industries.

Project selection will be informed by the relative spatial (catchment) priorities for water quality improvement in the Fitzroy and Mackay-Whitsunday regions as identified in the Reef 2050 Water Quality Improvement Plan (Reef 2050 WQIP) (formerly known as the Reef Water Quality Protection Plan).
